Mentorship for Native Land Trusts

The NALC has been working alongside other Native American Land organizations to support and create a Native Land Trust Alliance. This group will offer needed support to fledgling Native American groups, and will allow coordinated actions between different groups.

The NALC also mentors other Native American land trusts to help them gain status as a 501.c.3 organization, and helped the Kumeyaay Diegueño Land Conservancy become a non-profit. Today, the KDLC owns five parcels in the greater San Diego area—the first of which, a property in the mountain town of Julian, was held by the NALC while the KDLC organized. The NALC continues to work with the KDLC as a sister organization today. Learn more about the KDLC.
