The NALC promotes cultural heritage and education through its programs.


Learning Landscapes

Our Learning Landscapes program allows youth ages 12-18 to learn about their cultural heritage and about the flora and fauna of the Old Woman Mountains.

Salt Song Project

Led by Chemehuevi and Southern Paiute elders, the Salt Song Project revitalizes a ceremonial and sacred song cycle that traverses today’s desert Southwest.




Publications and Presentations

The NALC has published two books and worked with colleges and universities to get the word out about Native American land trusts.

Totem Pole Journey

In partnership with the House of Tears carvers, the Totem Pole Journey protests against proposed development of sacred sites in Washington State.
